Code of conduct

Bu belge depoda İngilizce tutulur; bu sayfa dosyanın kendisidir.

The standard

Be decent to people. Assume the person on the other side is acting in good faith and knows things you do not.

Concretely, these are not welcome here: personal attacks, harassment, insults about who somebody is rather than what they wrote, publishing anyone's private information, and sustained disruption of a discussion after being asked to stop.

Disagreement is not on that list, and should not be. This project's own documents argue with earlier versions of themselves; a review that finds a claim wrong is the most useful thing anybody can bring. Criticise the work as hard as it deserves — the line is between the work and the person.

Scope

Anywhere this project happens: issues, pull requests, discussions, commit messages, and any space where somebody is representing the project.

Reporting

Email info@stackvo.io.

Reports are read by the maintainer and nobody else. You will get an acknowledgement; you may not get a detailed account of what was decided, because the other person's side of it is not the reporter's to be told.

What happens then

There is no committee and no appeal process, because there is one maintainer and pretending otherwise would be a procedure nobody can actually run. What there is:

  • A private word, for something that reads as a bad day rather than a pattern.
  • A public correction, when the behaviour was public and left standing would look endorsed.
  • A block, for harassment, for anything targeting a person rather than the work, or for a pattern that continues after being named.

Enforcement is a judgement call made by one person, which is a real limitation of this arrangement and is stated rather than dressed up. If you think a decision was wrong, say so — by email, and it will be reconsidered.

Attribution

Adapted in spirit from the Contributor Covenant, rewritten rather than copied so that every sentence in it is one this project can actually carry out.
